Early Academic Pursuits

Dr. Ajar Nath Yadav’s academic journey is deeply rooted in the life sciences, with a distinguished progression from a Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology from the University of Allahabad (2006) to a Master’s in Biotechnology from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi (2009), where he secured the second rank. He further pursued a Ph.D. in Microbial Biotechnology from the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, awarded in 2016. His research focused on bacterial diversity in cold deserts and the exploration of genes linked to low-temperature tolerance. His academic rigor and consistent excellence have laid a strong foundation for his future contributions in microbial sciences and biotechnology.

Professional Endeavors

Currently serving as the Deputy Director (RDC & IQAC), Dean (Postgraduate Studies-Officiating), Head of the Department of Genetics, Plant Breeding, and Biotechnology, and Associate Professor at Eternal University, Dr. Yadav holds multiple key administrative and academic positions. With over nine years of dedicated teaching and academic service, he has been instrumental in enhancing institutional quality standards, developing academic policies, and guiding research initiatives. His additional responsibilities include serving as Assistant Controller of Examinations and Secretary of numerous university-level academic and quality assurance committees.

Contributions and Research Focus

Dr. Yadav’s research interests span microbial diversity, plant-microbe interactions, extremophilic microbiomes, soil microbiome applications for crop improvement, and the development of eco-friendly biofertilizers and biopesticides. He has pioneered several first reports on plant-growth-promoting microbes linked to sustainable agriculture and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. His significant findings include the development of a novel growth medium—Haloarchaea P-solubilizing Medium—and the identification of archaea with multiple nutrient-solubilizing and plant-beneficial traits. His research extends to the Himalayan agricultural systems, focusing on bioinoculants for hilly terrains and nutrient-deficient soils.

Technical Skills and Research Guidance

As a multifaceted researcher and academic, Dr. Yadav has designed and led the establishment of centralized labs in microbial biotechnology and soil science. He has also developed novel methodologies and supervised innovative research projects. His mentorship includes supervising four Ph.D. and three M.Sc. scholars, with three additional Ph.D. students currently under his guidance. He has evaluated Ph.D. theses internationally and nationally and has served as editor-in-chief, associate editor for 10 journals, and reviewer for over 495 manuscripts from 131 journals.

Teaching Experience and Curriculum Development

With nearly a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Yadav has taught a wide range of subjects at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. levels in microbiology, biotechnology, food technology, and agricultural sciences. His curriculum includes core and advanced subjects such as Agricultural Microbiology, Soil Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, Bioprocess Engineering, and Environmental Biotechnology. He has been deeply involved in curriculum development and revision, aligning academic content with emerging research trends and industry requirements.

Leadership, Administration, and Institutional Development

Dr. Yadav’s administrative leadership spans roles such as Deputy Director (RDC & IQAC), Dean (PG Studies), and Head of Department. He has chaired and coordinated critical academic bodies including the NAAC Accreditation Committee, Innovation Cell, and Central Examination Supervision. His work includes shaping institutional policies, managing research quality, and overseeing academic assessments. He has played a pivotal role in quality assurance, examination reforms, lab development, and organizing major academic and outreach events like Kisan Melas and university convocations.
