His doctoral research focused on exploring the antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anticancer properties of bioactive compounds from Gracilaria changii, a species of marine algae. This research underscored his commitment to advancing natural product applications in medicine. Prior to his Ph.D., Dr. Sasidharan earned a Master’s degree in Microbiology from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2002, where he conducted studies on the epidemiology, survival, and growth of Helicobacter pylori among diverse communities in Northern Peninsular Malaysia. His foundational education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, also from Universiti Sains Malaysia, awarded in 1999. Throughout his academic journey, Dr. Sasidharan demonstrated a strong focus on microbiology and biotechnology, setting the stage for his later contributions to molecular medicine and natural product research.
