Dr. Gowhar Iqbal began his journey in the field of fisheries science with a Bachelor’s degree (B.F.Sc) from the College of Fisheries, SKUAST-K, Jammu & Kashmir (2016–2020), scoring 8.04/10. He continued his academic advancement with a Master’s degree (M.F.Sc) in Fish Biotechnology from ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai, where he earned an OGPA of 8.36/10. His master’s research focused on molecular characterization of nematode parasites in fish from Maharashtra’s Barvi Reservoir.
