Dr. Asmaa Sayed Abd Elkarim was born on May 12, 1979, in Giza, Egypt. Her academic journey began with a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Science (Girls), Cairo, Egypt, in 2003. Her master’s research focused on phytochemical and biological studies of the genus Cassia (Fabaceae), which she completed in 2008.

In 2024, Dr. Abd Elkarim achieved her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the same institution, with a dissertation on plant-derived phenolic compounds of the Polygonaceae family.
